Corrupt Seeds?

Hi guys, is it just me or the weather is very cool. Anyways, you guys didn't comment yesterday and it was supposed to conversational. As much as you read please comment, we are to lean from each other and not the other way around. Diving into today's topic,
Matthew 7:17-18 King James Version (KJV)17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

This could be a really sentimental topic but its been boggling my mind for a while. It's written clearly in the Bible how it's by fruits that we really know the tree, so then what's the problem with the seeds of our pastors? I've observed that about 70% of Pastors' seeds out of the total 100% end up rotten. Many of them are addicts (not of God oh), some are messing their lives and bodies up, most of them walk away from the faith that they were brought up in.

So what could be the cause, could it be that the trees are the ones that are corrupting  their seeds? or that the seeds just made  the choice to come from a good tree but still be corrupt and rotten. I'm not typing this to condemn or judge, I'm just stating what is now becoming a norm in our society. I've spoken to some Pastors' seeds and they've complained woefully about the pressures of perfection that have inadvertently pulled them into the lifestyle they live. Some have admitted to walking away from it all and finding the path themselves and others have totally lost their path and still prefer to be in oblivion than to go back the paths they came from.

What are your thoughts on this, am I off beat? Is there someone to be blamed? Please lets share the knowledge as no one is an island.
Thanks and God bless.

  1. In the little way I understand the scriptures and in the way Holy Spirit interprets them to me.
What Jesus was saying in that particular place, is about the kind of fruit we believers or humans in general bear.. It's so not talking about fruit (in terms of pastor seeds) that verse is addressing gal 5:17-23
Which talks about fruit of the spirit and the works of the flesh.
Which is a physical fruit every individual bear as a believer or unbeliever... Let me digress a bit.. Just as the gift of the spirit is doing a spiritual work, the fruit of the spirit is doing a physical work.. It is something we can see or sense, it's a basis of good characters/morals.. By those fruit in gal 5:19-23 we shall know them!
I'm subjected to relearn, unlearn, and learn from other views countering mine and supporting mine. Thank you!

  2. As much as I understand that you are speaking in the path of fruits as actions and not our seeds/children. I'm not looking at it from the actions part but from the children you actually bear, or are fruits not children of a tree? So also a family lineage is referred to as a family tree, so we can say that our fathers are trees and we are fruits (trees in embryos too). I'm also subject to relearn and the whole mantra you put up there. Thanks for the addition.

  3. This is an issue that has been on my mind for long. Since I was a little kid, I ve been seeing pastor's children and the behavior of majority of them is nothing to write home about. I checked and notice that some were corrupted because their pastoral parents do not have time for them believing that the kids should automatically follow their footsteps which is not suppose to be so. In the other part, the parents do try their best but it just seems that the kids are just like temptations from the devil.

    1. Oh wow, you see my point I've seen some of them and are friends with some who have complained that their parents are more dedicated to the church service than to their parental services. My belief is before you got called as a Pastor you were first called as a father, not to despise your service to God but to raise seeds that become bigger services to God.
