In Calling

Image
A lot of stuff has been going on even the holiday couldn't ease my breath but we thank the Lord. Psalms 18:3 I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall i be saved from my enemies. Notice what David said here, I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised. I think I will be correct with my guess that David was calling upon God in praise, the system is to call on God and do it in praises and then your Praise Call will move God against your enemies. Disclaimer: I didn't say you should praise God with the motive if being saved from your enemies oh, all I'm type-saying is your Praise Call should be because you understand that God is worthy to be praised. I know that we've always associated calling on God to crying or soliciting for something but let's take our cue from David who in calling upon God recognizes that He alone is worthy to be praised and that's how he can be saved from his enemies. Not in grumbling or complaining as

He's Coming 2

Hi guys, happy new week. Forgive my inconsistency, network can be a hassle most times. So I'm thinking of changing my network. Lemme get down to business, but before that, I might be unable to send the link for posts on Whatsapp. However, be rest assured that the memoirs are posted daily, so please just come to the blog to check it out. Your feedback is also very important oh, do well to comment in the box below. Philippians 3:20-21 Amplified Bible (AMP)   But [we are different, because] our citizenship is in heaven. And from there we eagerly await [the coming of] the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ;  who, by exerting that power which enables Him even to subject everything to Himself, will [not only] transform [but completely refashion] our earthly bodies so that they will be like His glorious resurrected body. This should serve as a reminder to us all. Let's stop acting like we belong here, let's stop getting offended when they call us weird because of ou

He Knows

Good day, it's almost the weekend so smile jare. I have to say God has really had my back this week oh. He's showed me favor in places I least expected it. May your bad days prove that God is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it. So all I'm gonna say is don't give up, no matter how hard things seem it can't get worse and if it does get worse, then be rest assured that you have a Father that will make it better. He called you, He chose you to be His son or daughter. He's a father that cares wholly, lemme confirm it to you that your Father won't desert you. He's promised and He will fulfill it, it may not be at your own time or pace but He makes all things beautiful in His own time. So don't fret just trust and you'll be okay.  Like Travis Greene  heard from God 'calm down son, I've never missed a ball game' I'm also using these words to comfort your heart. He's faith

Free Indeed 2

Hi guys, good day. Is it just me or this week is dragging its feet. Anyways, we thank the Lord oh. 1 Peter 2:16 New International Version (NIV) Live as free people, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as God’s slaves. Still on this freedom matter, so I've been trying to get the verse that speaks my mind gan gan, and I found this. Behave and live as people that are free because you identify with Christ and Christ has paid the price for your freedom, however, your freedom comes with restrictions. You are restricted in the sense that you can't be doing evil and hide under the cover of freedom. You can't dress naked to church and say you have been set free, so you have the liberty to dress as you like. Like i typed yesterday, your behavior has to reflect your freedom and how Jesus expressed it on the cross. It's not freedom to say that because "Paul said he boasts in Christ" then you have the right to be proud. Be cautious and unders

Free Indeed

Hey guys, how was the day? Hope y'all are doing great? John 8:36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. So I learnt something today that I think is important. To be free indeed isn't just about being free but it's about being free in deeds too. I mean your behavior becomes a reflection of your freedom. Some of us are free in the sense of the word but our acts and mindset do not show forth our freedom. I've heard Christians say 'I can't pack the rubbish you swept, cos it's a bad omen ', I've heard others say 'don't sit on this, or you'll be barren'. Some of us don't act the freedom part and others overact the freedom part. I'd like us to know our freedom but also understand that it shouldn't be taken for granted. Don't Goan say Icequeen said you should behave the part then you will now be behaving like a bastard oh.  Recognize your freedom and by yourself create your limita

Be Wise 2

Hello fellaz, happy new week jare. Smile this week will explode with goodies. Proverbs 3:7-8 Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones. I know I wrote on being wise yesterday but let's just go further. Now in being wise like I typed is to fear God, but don't go and be deceiving yourself that you fear God so you are wise. The one that fears God shuns evil, shuns sin, shuns everything that you could dip your hands in and make you immoral. Some of us think 'I love God', some of us think 'I fear God'. Peter was always quick to shout it out at Jesus that he loved Him, only for the day of reckoning to come and then he discovered that he only thought he loved Jesus. Until your love is tested, whether by trials or persecution you might only just be thinking that you fear Him. So when you love God, you fear Him in reverence and so you shun evil. It is now that y

Be wise

Happy new week guys, be positive oh, lines are falling for us in pleasant places, so don't fret. Proverbs 2:10-11 When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee: Lemme back track the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom yeah? So when the fear of God enters your heart then it just means that the wisdom of God has entered your heart and when you fear God you begin to dig deep. You just wanna know more, by knowing more your reverence grows and your wisdom increases. Then and only then is when you know that there are times in discussions that you need to be quiet. You start speaking with wisdom, not the kinda wisdom that you think to yourself 'I have sense oh'. Nah, not that one but the one that people will just sense that you just applied wisdom and not sense. You become discrete in your speech, even in your acts. You know how to navigate in dicey situations.

The Word

Oh my, today's a good day. Thank God it's the weekend and we're alive. Psalms 12:6 And the words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible, like gold refined seven times. The peculiarities of the Word of God is something we can't possibly ignore, the Word is life in itself. Whenever you receive it, you just get refreshed. Some of us hold onto it as a treasure that is valued more than gold. His Word holds no errors, that's why it's flawless. Once spoken it makes no mistake when getting to its recipient. Words that when spoken keep echoing in our hearts and minds. When God speaks you just know that your case is settled. The Word that gives assurance, comfort and solutions to issues of life.  When God speaks, personally I die there ni oh. It's always just so sure for me because I trust the Speaker and I trust His word.  Cheers guys! Memoirs of a Christian

He's Coming

Hi guys, good evening and how was your day. Lemme give my testimony, it's not that we never get broke but God provides. “After that, He appeared in a different form to two of them as they were walking along the way to the country. They returned [to Jerusalem] and told the others, but they did not believe them either.” MARK 16:12-13 AMP Okay, so Jesus showed Himself to certain people after He had risen before He showed Himself to His disciples, but to everyone He showed Himself to they went to testify to the others. The disciples sha didn't believe them. It was like even though Jesus had told them He would rise, they didn't believe or expect Him to. Many of us are now like that, we've heard about His coming, we've read about it yet we have this lackadaisical attitude about it. Are you and I prepared? Do we even realize that all the prophecies are coming to pass? Are we watching and waiting? Or are we among the ones that say that 'they've been

Making Excuses

Thank God for the rain (both the former and the latter rain) thank God for the former rain that beat me slightly and the latter rain that beat me mercilessly. “Then Moses said to the LORD, “Please, Lord, I am not a man of words (eloquent, fluent), neither before nor since You have spoken to Your servant; for I am slow of speech and tongue.”” EXODUS 4:10 AMP Studying the life of Moses I noticed that he never missed an opportunity to make excuses, any time God wanted to send him on an errand, He had a perfectly constructed excuse as to why he couldn't do what he was sent to do.  Many of us might call it humility but all I see it as is undermining the ability of He that sent you. Maybe Moses had forgotten that God knows everything and He was aware of his shortcomings yet my uncle always reminded God . I've prayed a prayer before and after praying I made excuses for God and concluded that I would understand and accept if that prayer was answered. Many of us are

Thoughtful Replies

It's better late than never, how are you guys faring? Today has been stressful for me jare, don't mind me. “But Jesus gave no further answer; so Pilate was perplexed.” MARK 15:5 AMP I read through the persecution and crucifixion of Jesus in this chapter and noticed a few things. There were questions asked that Jesus gave a reply to and there were others that He kept mute on. Major lesson learnt- not all questions require an answer. There are some times we need to stay quiet like Jesus did and observe (I think that was what Jesus was doing).  Too many of us of which I am chief are too in a hurry to give answers to the questions asked us and like Peter some of us go the extra mile of saying even the stuffs that weren't required from us. We speak out of impulse and then say all the wrong things. Some of us in our bid to reply so as to supposedly fight for our God we end up defaming Him, I think I've written about filtering our words, so this should be

Your Tears

Image
Good evening dearie, hope your day was full of sauce? “While He was in Bethany [as a guest] at the home of Simon the leper, and reclining at the table, a woman came with an alabaster vial of very costly and precious perfume of pure nard; and she broke the vial and poured the perfume over His head.” MARK 14:3 AMP So I'm gonna liken this with something we are conversant with. Many of us have made anointing the feet of Christ with our tears a weird thing. Some of us are even ashamed of being caught crying in His presence. I've once been asked why I like crying during praise and worship, that day I smiled and said it is in my natural element to cry in gratitude to God. Wait a second if I don't cry to God who exactly will I cry to. I like to think that when I cry to God in adoration for Him I'm anointing His feet or His head with my tears. It's not a waste when I cry for God, thank you lemme have headache. Shebi it's my headache just allow me to cry

Good, Good God

Hi guys, how's it going? I'm so sorry for my inconsistency the past week, I had a few complications with my phone but God is taking control.  Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him. Hmmm, so I've been really stuck on one song that is all about this verse and on Thursday I can say twas a really bad day for me but through it all God just kept showing up in my case. He broke a lot of protocols for me, opened ways for me and just really covered. Even though the bad day was the consequence of my carelessness, God kept on raising people in high places to take the fall for me. He showed me that even in my bad days, no what am I saying sef? He showed me that most especially in my bad days He's God and He's good. Only if I trust Him, like seriously I had to go to Him admitting my fault and asking for His help and help He did.  So wait don't goan start expecting miracles when your day is

Forgiveness 3

Good day guys, I'm sure y'all are doing good. Luke 23:34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Still on this forgiveness matter, we realize that one lesson to learn from the verse above is that 'when it hurts the most is when you need to forgive ', you see if an offense isn't that hurtful then it's pretty easy to let go. I was pretty offended some weeks back, the thing pained me and entered my chest. I almost swore I wouldn't even forgive the offender but then I think God just used that to train me. Once something is too hard to forgive and you entertain it, it means that the offense and the pain from it is more than your love for God. Check this, unforgiveness can be an idol, you place the offender before anything else in your heart, the grudge takes up more space in your mind. In essence you dwell on it more than you dwell on God. Jesus knew the implications of

Forgiveness 2

Hi friends, how has been your day? Matthew 5:23-24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Still on forgiveness, you know even me myself have always thought that I can forgive someone and severe ties with that person. At least in my mind I've forgiven the person I just don't want to have anything to do with such person again, but I recently learnt that it doesn't work like that. I read that forgiveness in God's dictionary is forgetting the misdeed  and mending the broken relationship. So God doesn't recognize 'I forgive you but we can never be friends again'. At first I was like trying to fight that theory but you know what the Holy Spirit asked me? He said 'Ice, imagine you asking for forgiveness and God saying I forgive you but there can be noth

Forgiveness

Hi people, good day, hope your day is going great? “Whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him [drop the issue, let it go], so that your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you your transgressions and wrongdoings [against Him and others].” MARK 11:25 AMP I think this verse also relates with one that says before giving make sure you've settled your grudges. See God isn't interested in keeping grudges. He's made it clear to us that He doesn't want to smell unforgiveness around you at all, in forgiveness He gave everything to us. He won't answer your prayers when you are holding a grudge because He knows that grudges are toxic to your health physically, mentally and spiritually.  Amplified says, drop the grudge and totally let it go, it's happened to me that I'll tell someone they've offended me only for them to ask what they did wrong and I'd have completely forgotten. Now this testimony is not i

Agreements

Image
Happy new week guys, May is already smiling, may May smile to the end, Amen. Amos 3:3 Do two walk together unless they have agreed to do so? This week I want us to be cautious with our agreements, if you've agreed to be sad this week then just know that joy can't walk with you. I remember I started a week very stressed and from the onset I just had a belief that I'll be stressed throughout the week. Even though I didn't do any stressful thing that week I still felt overly stressed. You attract what you think and feel and confess. Many of us be having negative thoughts and expect that good things walk with us, absolutely not. If there's no agreement then there's no togetherness. It's like being in a typical Lagos market with a friend, you walk closely together and stuff but when you are walking alone and someone keeps following you closely you know something's wrong.  Same thing with friends we keep, I thank God for my friends oh! The

As Eagles

Image
Happy weekend guys, the traffic is pretty bad and I'm still a long way from my destination. However, Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. The major thing we need to succeed is to wait on God. Don't preempt Him, don't make decisions for Him, don't imagine hearing Him. Wait on Him, now waiting on Him isn't only about Instructions or answers but also about watching earnestly for His second coming. Be expectant, be giddy with excitement because you know He's coming. As you do so you receive strength and fresh power to overcome and wait. Your faith is renewed and your strength is renewed as well. Then you'll mount (very swift and stress free) up not climb (which is rather strenuous) up with wings, notice the words 'as eagles' not 'like eagles'. You will rise up regally as an eagle.

The KEY?

Hola Amigos! How was the holiday, for me it wasn't even like one. Isaiah 38:5 Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years. I studied the life of King Hezekiah, and I noticed some things, persistence in prayer is key but it isn't always key. Here was a man that God had told arrange yourself, you go soon commot. Now the thing is, he prayed totally out of the will of God. You know if you pray out of the will of God, God will not answer but He answered Hezekiah. The basic reason why God answered him was not that he was praying out of God's will but because he opened a debtor's book for God. The book of Proverbs tells us God doesn't ever owe a debt, so when Hezekiah brought up all his good deeds for God and His people God had to answer the prayer. God is principled, if you insist on something and call up your acts against His will,

Holy Priesthood

Image
Happy new month people, may this new month be filled with joy and transforming encounters. 1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ. I just wanna emphasize on our priesthood which is holy. Some people have said that this verse is 'like lively stones', now the Word 'like' is used when imitating but not the real thing, 'as' on the other hand is being whatever you are compared to or with. Now we are lively stones that God is using to build a spiritual house or fortress, of which we are the priests that will offer all the sacrifices I mentioned yesterday.  The condition being that all the sacrifices you've made or are making are acceptable to God by Jesus. When Jesus said He'll raise stones to praise Him, He was talking about the gentiles (us) because in real sense we are all stones, actually rock and stones are made from sand
