Be Wise 3

Hi guys, happy new week, may this week birth great things for us, and may our hearts find joy.

Matthew 25:5-6 New International Version (NIV)
The bridegroom was a long time in coming, and they all became drowsy and fell asleep. “At midnight the cry rang out: ‘Here’s the bridegroom! Come out to meet him!’
Matthew 25:13 New International Version (NIV)
“Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.

So I know we all admire the 5 wise virgins because they seemed to be prepared, they made ready for in case the bridegroom is a late comer. However, I'd like to share something I learnt from Allison & Choco Hyacintho. This is it, while the other 5 virgins that had extra oil were wise I still want to enjoin us to not be like them, amidst everything the parable shows that they slept. Now let's not forget the 'watch and pray' mandate, so at no point in time should you fall asleep. Instead let us emulate 'the crier'.

Lemme say a bit about what I understand about 'the crier'. The crier in my opinion didn't come with the Bridegroom, the crier was likely to be as the virgins were, not knowing when the Bridegroom was going to come in but 'the crier' in addition to having extra oil, didn't dare sleep, instead was keeping watch. Diligently ignoring the urge to sleep, watching and waiting with a lamp filled with oil on the Bridegroom. Being the announcer of the Bridegroom's arrival and for sure also going in because after the foolish virgins left, they went straight to knock not to consult 'the crier'.

So 5 virgins were wise and 5 were foolish, however 'the crier' was the wisest. Be like the crier but don't forget Paul's words:
1 Corinthians 9:27
I’m not going to get caught napping, telling everyone else all about it and then missing out myself.
